Summary: | From the preface: This book is a study of Nazi regional organization, the Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft (SOEG) in Vienna. It describes the agency's internal development, its interaction with other agencies, and its role in planning and executing the Third Reich's blueprint for the New Order in Southeastern Europe. This study does not pretend to encompass the entire complex field of German-Balkan relations in World War II. Rather, the SOEG was for the most part a recipient only of economic policy directives and had very little contact, for example, with the German military agencies in Southeastern Europe. |
